The Town of Wayland is home to the The Gunlocke Company, Loon Lake and the Potato Festival. The community is nestled among rolling hills and a patchwork of agricultural fields and farms. The close-knit hamlets host two very active fish and game clubs, numerous active churches and civil organizations reflecting a broad range of interests. The town is centrally located between Rochester and Corning, and is flanked by the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions. With such close proximity to I-390 there is easy access to points surrounding the immediate area and taking advantage of the unique region.

Christmas in Wayland Coming December 4, 2014

The Wayland Rotary Club is again sponsoring a grand hometown welcome to the holiday season with Christmas in Wayland scheduled for December 4, 2014 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The are events to delight the entire family along with craft and product vendors, food, raffles and wagon rides. Santa arrives at the American legion at 5:00 PM and the Legion tree will be lit at 5:45 PM. There will be a Living Nativity at  the 5-Star bank from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Proceeds from this event will benefit Coats for Kids and the Vincent House. Be sure to bring your donation of new hats and mittens which will be collected at all three locations.
